WHERE IS GRANADA?
WHY AM I HERE?
As a double major in Psychology and Spanish, I am looking for a career where I can help people, specifically children. My Spanish major allows me to reach a larger population of people. Although I grew up listening and speaking Spanish with my dad and his side of the family, I still have a lot to learn when it comes to different cultures, literature, and especially grammar (by FAR the most difficult part of Spanish for me). By studying abroad in Granada, Spain (also known as Graná), I hope to not only improve my Spanish, but also become more culturally aware of the world around me. I believe open mindedness is a quality that benefits everyone and one of the best ways to become more open minded is to be exposed to different cultures and populations. While I hope to improve my Spanish speaking skills and grammar, experience different cultures, and expand my open mindedness, I am also looking forward to being assigned a service learning project that will make my study abroad experience in Granada even more engaging and enjoyable.
